My ass has been so throughly kicked by lindeloff, cuse, and abrams and LOST tonight, along with the actors, writers and whatnots, it's like, beyond crazy.

I have to download the episodes on iTunes and watch again....because...well....I have been sooo throughly ass-kicked it's no longer humorous, this is like finding a gold mine with a platinum mine inside and diamonds raining on your ass.

Time to take a break, breathe, and accept....and now I gotta wait 9 months for the next one?

Because of an odd quirk in the timing of BSG's release in the UK via SkyOne, I was able to see Sina Qua Non early this week, instead of after Friday.

Why?

the UK does not have Memorial Day Weekend. So they kept to their "normal " schedule which USUALLY has their BSG on the Tuesday after ours airs on the preceeding Friday. But since we didn't show the episode yet, now they're actually ahead of us.

No word on how long this will last, but let's face it, this is BT-made mayhem.

Anyway.

Tonight's our last LOST and I resisted all those spoilery clips on io9.com...I'm eager to see it but also anxious because I know this is it, then no more for 9 months...and BSG "ends" mid season soon and probably wont be back until 2009...and after that? No crack at all..aside from the Dark Knight DVD and Movie this summer....sigh....

Random Questions For BSG and LOST

LOST ends its season next week (sigh) and BSG is in the midst of its final season (sigh x 2) and yet, some random lingering questions remain....

Battlestar Galactica questions, in no particular order:

- Where do the humanoid Cylons get their clothes? Is there a legion of Centurions on the basestars stashed away somewhere, sewing, cutting, and measuring? Do we have a gold plated Centurion saying "You will look fab, Number Six! By Your Command!"? Why do they all wear different clothes? Who designs those stylish shoes the Sixes and Threes wear?

-Why would humans from 1000s of years before Cylons even were invented know anything about Cylons? Likewise, why would a hybrid cylon designed to run the basestars, including the old one from the First Cylon War, know squat about anything?

-How did Lee Adama go from kick-ass fighter pilot to easily mis-led doofus, being prodded by Tom Zarek (who tried to kill him once) to do al sorts of stupid stuff? It's like he became a lame leftist over-idealistic, completely unrealistic goofus but with a bath and a haircut.

LOST Questions:

-Faraday was dumped on the island because of his physics background . Charlotte was investigating the Dharma polar bears. Lapidus was the pilot. So why the heck did they bring along Miles Straume, who talks to the dead (allegedly)? Were they planning to kill everyone then have Miles interrogate them post-mortem?

-The pursuit of Locke since he was born is interesting. Are we finally going to get some answers on the Island/Christian Sheppard/"Chosen one" thing this season?

-Ben is coming off like at least sort of the Good Guy and Widmore is sort of the Bad Guy. But how does Abbadon and Mr. Alpert fit in to all of this? I thought Mittelos was the bad guy or something. So....?

So thanks to an unexpected windfall from the Joe Nation for State Senate campaign, and some unexpected "bonus" consulting work I'm doing, I am able to afford (even at this late date) to spend several days at the San Diego Comic Con in July! Woo hoo!

Turnout is expected to be, like, super huge, and not unlike the folks at that party in the desert, there will be people in costume, doing all sorts of sstuff, and whatnot. I plan on blogging as much of it as I can - question is who else amongst the bay area bloggeratti will be in San Diego that weekend?

The death list of network TV shows is up at the LA Times and sadly, "Miss Guided," one of my favorite comedies, is no more.

It didn't help that it debuted at an odd time, but still, it was actually quite funny, and Judy Greer was certainly not difficult to look at.

Ah well.

File this in the "WTF Advertising" department...McDonalds is using Iron Maiden-esque fonts and this weird idea about competitive burger eating at their websites.

It puzzles more than anything else. Then of course, there's the there's the standalone site where you can send invites to your friends....

And they now have a chicken sandwich which has butter on the buns and pickles. Never really thought of putting pickles on a chicken sandwich. It'd be much better if they did what my brother suggested, and lay off the gallon of mayo they put on each dollar chicken sandwich and gave you the option of having Frank's Red Hot (or a similar clone) sauce on 'em instead.

Thanks to the patriotic citizens at TechCrunch, I was able to see Iron Man early this evening, and do so for a mere $1! How awesome is that?

There was a bit of drama which you can read about here which appeared to come from Marvel, but in fact was instigated by the lovely people at Oracle. You know, the company with the billionaire who got his taxes reduced on his massive Japanese-style estate because, well the poor guy is just hurtin, it seems.

Anyway, the movie was great, the Oracle people weren't all douche-y to us TechCrunch partisans, and the movie itself was very entertaining. The "Iron Man" looked real, and Robert Downey Jr. was kicking some ass.

Fun Fact: "Ralphie" from "A Christmas Story" was one of the producers! No joke!
