Ah, the internets. I was sitting here with my morning coffee in my awesome new home office, reading all things wikipedia, and a stumble here and a tumble there and bam! some news hit me in the fact like a ton of bricks.
Apparently in the leadup to the new Batman movie, there was some talk of a Batman anime to bridge the gap between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, similar to the Animatrix DVD that came out during the Matrix movie series.
First, there
was this hint of what might be coming, and news that some of Japan's best animation studios would be working on the series.
Then I read that Satoshi Kon, who has directed and written some amazing films that just happen to be animated (Perfect Blue, Paprika, Millenium Actress, to name a few) is now involved.
There are so many levels of awesome involved in the Batman movie (and the intricate promotion they're doing for it), which makes it all that much sadder since Heath Ledger, who apparently kicked ass as The Joker, just died.
