We really party like rock stars here. Because the internet was down (AT&T sucks!) I decided to watch "broadcast TV," since I don't have cable, and didn't feel like watching another Japanese movie. (Wow this just gets better and better, doesn't it?)
Anyway, I turned on a rerun of this show called "Cold Case," which I figured was one of those boring CBS police procedurals, and was about change the channel when I saw Barry Bostwick on it. Barry Bostwick? WTF?
Anyway, as it turned out it was the main characters (Hell I don't even know their names) led by the cute blonde one, trying to solve a murder in the 70s that for some unknown reason revolved around the "Rocky Horror Picture Show." They even had the music from the movie puncutating each pretend-dramatic scene (anyone who read a MAD Magazine in the 70s and read the "Why You Don't Need to Keep Watching TV" feature figured the whole thing out in like 2 seconds).
When I was in high school, a number of my friends were in a cast over at the now defunct Belmont Theater, and I remember going a few times, but I could never fully get in to going every single Friday at Midnight. I don't know that people really do this anymore, in the era of Facebook, DVDs, meth, and text messaging, since I don't know that we have theaters that will allow people to tear up the place spraying water and the like on everyone in the rain scene.
ANYWAY, I thought it was kind of cool that somewhere in Hollywood, a former RHPS "cast" member is now working in the biz, and got a chance to express their youthful preference for said film in a dull CBS show. Oh and that blonde that's the lead in the show is kinda cute too.
Here are the end credits, in RHPS format! Woo freakin' hoo.
